Could this be the first 'Snowboard' ridden in Australia?

I recently wrote a piece for Transfer Snowboard Magazine where we think we might have uncovered the first ‘snowboard’ ridden in Australia.

It all came about from a chance encounter with George Watt, a long-standing member of the local surf club I joined earlier this year...

George told me that in 1978 he and his good friend Geoff St. George shaped what they called ‘The Snowf’ to be able to “surf on snow”. The tale that unfolded and pictures dug up from that era sparked my curiosity and I delved deeper with George to find out if this could have been the very first ‘snowboard’ ridden in Australia.
