Introducing our new series: QUIVERS: where each episode, we test & review selected snowboards that we stock from a brands full line-up.
First up, we are reviewing 3 models from the mountain-focused United Shapes 2019 snowboard line...
Notes:
HORIZON SERIES: This board is the most freestyle oriented in the US line... While still a directional shape, the centered low-rise camber profile and soft-mid flex of the board lends itself to more natural switch riding.
Board Tested: 155cm as ridden by: Tom (75kg, 5'10, 13US boot)
Available Lengths: 147cm, 151cm, 155cm, 159 Mid-wide
EXPLORER SERIES: My personal favourite board, hence why I own one! An aggressive directional shape, meets a smooth, softer flex. This means you can carve the bejesus out of it when you want to go ham, or simply cruise and play around on side-hits when your feeling a little more mellow. My all round favourite board for mountain-focused riding (carving, steeps, trees & of course Powder) with a dash of freestyle riding thrown in. Best! James.
Board Tested: 159cm (***2018 model - personal board) as ridden by: JAMES (85kg, 6'3, 11US boot)
Available Lengths: 146cm, 150cm, 153cm, 156cm, 159cm
ORBIT SERIES: A stiff & powerful free-carving focused directional board with a slightly wider waist width to really lay over those turns without worrying about toe or heel drag. This one is a Beast!
Board Tested: 157cm as ridden by: JAMES (85kg, 6'3, 11US boot)
Available Lengths: 151cm, 154cm, 157cm
